Heritage In Wedderburn

Wedderburn is steeped in heritage. It was originally established as a result of the gold rush in the 1850’s. Wedderburn was rich in gold and many nuggets are still found today by avid prospectors with the latest in detectors. There is a detector jamboree held in Wedderburn on the Labor Day weekend in March every year and prospectors come from all over the country to participate in the event. It’s no wonder Wedderburn is referred to as the Gold Seekers Town.

And speaking of “gold seeking”, that doesn’t only apply to the yellow metal. Wedderburn’s easy going lifestyle can also offer you and your family that golden opportunity for a “tree change”.

Health In Wedderburn

Wedderburn offers great opportunities to improve your health. Just breathing in our fresh country air is a good start. You also find lovely walking tracks that wend their way through the town. The section along the Nardoo Creek is particularly spectacular with native plants lining the track which are inhabited by a multitude of birds.

If you want to see kangaroos in their native environment, then you would be hard pressed to miss them in Wedderburn particularly during the late afternoon.
