Eucalyptus Stew Pot Day Tour

Visit Wedderburn and see the only working “Eucalyptus Stew Pot” in Victoria.

Gold panner drawingLocated at Hard Hill Tourist Reserve, close to town in a natural bush setting is a working “Eucalyptus Stew Pot”. Eucalyptus is a natural Australia Product and was the first ever export out of Australia.

In the heart of Hard Hill Tourist Reserve visitors can watch a full demonstration on how to make pure “Blue Mallee Eucalyptus Oil” in a working Eucalyptus Stew Pot.

Cooking eucalyptus oil in the old eucy stew pot at Hard HillVisitors will:-

  • see the cutting of eucalyptus leaves
  • be shown how the eucalyptus leaves are stacked into the stew pot
  • view how the eucalyptus oil is processed
  • learn how the eucalyptus oil is separated from the well
  • smell the essences of raw eucalyptus oil.

Facilities at Hard Hill Tourist Reserve include:-

  • toilets
  • picnic shelter and BBQ facility
  • walking track around the reserve
  • walk way to a historic gold mine

Prior group bookings essentials  $6.60 per person. (Includes GST)
Group bookings require 8+ people

Other must see and do attractions in Wedderburn – Coachhouse Museum and Gallery, Sculptures of Albert Jacka and Albert Borella Australian VC winners, Wedderburn Original Primary School, (now the community centre), Cuzz’s Studio, Op Shop, Kangaroo Chair and gold detecting demonstration.
